Alpaca goods

A part of the camel family that live in the highlands of Bolivia are the Llamas, Alpacas, Guanacos and Vicunjas. These are in much demand because of their wool. Llama wool is a bit coarse, but Alpaca wool is fine and soft to the skin.

The Vicunja wool
is the most fine wool, because it is very warm and soft. But the Vicunjas need two years to produce around one pound of wool. That is why this wool is very expensive and that is why we do not distribute articles made from this wool.

The Guanaco wool is also very fine but these animals are quite rare. The Alpaca needs around two years to produce about fifteen pounds of wool. This woll is used for making pullovers, ponchos and other articles. Below you can see some articles from Alpaca wool that we have in several colours and varities.
